TIME magazine has revealed its annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, highlighting 100 extraordinary destinations to visit and stay around the world. Masiya’s Camp at Royal Malewane has been selected as one of the exciting new places to stay for 2026.
To compile the list, TIME solicited nominations from its international network of correspondents and contributors, alongside an application process, with a focus on destinations offering new and compelling experiences for travellers.
Set within South Africa’s Greater Kruger National Park, Masiya’s Camp is the newest addition to Royal Malewane. The camp introduces a fresh chapter for the celebrated safari lodge, combining contemporary design with an intimate sense of place, and offering guests the exceptional guiding, wildlife encounters and warm hospitality for which Royal Malewane has long been known.
“Masiya’s Camp represents a new evolution for Royal Malewane,” said Matt Biden, CEO of The Royal Portfolio. “It is our first canvas camp and we wanted it to feel different, fun and full of personality, while still staying true to the spirit of safari and the extraordinary landscape around us. We have always believed that nature is far more colourful than people give it credit for. When you look closely at the bush you see vibrant birds, flowers and the soft pink tones of African sand.
The rose-pink canvas of the tents was inspired by those colours. Think the bright pink of Impala Lily flowers. The idea was to create something joyful and unexpected that still feels completely at home in the bush.”
